Transracial Foster Care

In this four part educational series, prospective and current foster parents will take part in a virtual learning environment on key issues that impact the success of African American children that are involved in child welfare. The series will also provide an opportunity to engage perspective African American parents in the role of becoming a foster parent.

In this fourth session, Dr. Jones will cover the following topics:

1) Realities of fostering/adopting children of a different race and culture 

2) Affirming and nurturing racial identity

3) Suggestions for successful fostering/adopting children of color
